This project is the design of four new single-family houses and two new duplexes to sit on an existing downtown Boulder site with an existing 1890’s house.

The old house has been retained as the central building and cue for the design of the adjacent new units.  The two new duplexes along Walnut Street have brick facades to echo the surrounding historic neighborhood and to act as bookends to the old house.  The new small houses in the back of the property perch along the edge of an existing stream and are more cottage-like in modern reinterpretation of the old house.

The interiors feature open main level plans and large windows looking out to the stream and large trees surrounding the site.
