This project is the complete redesign and strategic additions to an existing wood framed cabin up in the Colorado mountain just outside of Allenspark. The original rectangular cabin has been the long time writing retreat of my client and used as a family vacation house. The new project adds a series of dormer-like additions that re-orient the house toward view of Twin Sisters Mountain. A new garage and covered entry frames the new writer’s shack 60′ beyond the house to the north. This series of dormers creates the interactions between the viewer/visitor and the landscape, culminating in the largest one, the writer’s shack.
